Cinobo is an independent, on-demand movie streaming platform specialising in independent and alternative cinema. Committed to a more human-centred approach, they prioritise personal curation over algorithms, ensuring a uniquely tailored viewing experience.
Embracing their independent and convention-defying spirit, the visual identity is built around a bespoke typeface, Cinobo Display. This distinctive typeface, designed to complement Noi Grotesk and the platform’s rich catalogue of film stills and footage, draws inspiration from the rigid geometry of old movie theatre signs. Consisting solely of uppercase letters, it supports both the Latin and Greek alphabets across two weights—regular and outline.
Subtly referencing the full meaning behind the name—Cinema No Borders—a rogue ‘O’ in the logotype and sharp motion effects within the primary typographic elements convey the platform’s bold attitude and alternative character.
